About
Who are we?
Kaiju Industries is an entrepreneurial venture of a 21 year old engineering student from immigrant parents. Going through everyday life, purchasing products that are not up to standard, situations that are asking for a better solution, and experiences that left me feel cheated led me to designing and making things for my own uses. When speaking to others, it became apparent that I may not be the only one who experiences these dissatisfactions and could benefit from the availability of these products.
Unfortunately, due to being a young startup and being a student there are certain funding limitations which impact order quantities, unit costs to manufacture, and thus the end price of purchase for you, our customers. As we progress, it is a goal to be able to lower costs and allow for as much support for fellow Canadian businesses.
What is a Kaiju?
The Chinese/ Kanji charachters "怪獸" translate directly to "strange beast" meaning a monster. However, in popular culture and cinema are used to describe only the largest city destroyers such as Godzilla and Gamera.
But What does it mean to be a Kaiju?
Whatever you want it to be. It can be as simple as feeling like a monster because of your capabilities or as complex as your imagination will allow. To us it is the concept of acceptance and the conquer of individuality. Those that don't fit the mold are often labelled as monsters. If that is the case then why not be the biggest and baddest of them all. It is the embrace of being "different", utilization of criticism, and simply progressing towards our very own definition of the perfection, regardless and independent of the opinions of others.
Where it Began...
Like many things, the concept came of about from the establishment of the self identity. "We are told to think outside of the box but those that exist outside the social norms are labelled monsters so why not be the biggest and baddest of them all?" To embrace our individualism and differences, allowing us to take the the greatest attributes from all and progress as a whole
